Carrie J. Combs (Carney)

Carrie passed away on May 3, 2018 after battling cancer.  The following is from her newpaper notice written by her husband of more than 25 years, Art.

CARNEY, Carrie J. My awesome wife and best friend, Carrie J. Carney, passed from my hand into the hand of God on Thursday, May 3rd, 2018. Carrie has been taken to a wonderful place where she will be traveling and reading to her heart's content. Peace, love and lobstah are guaranteed! A native of Orange County, Carrie attended Santa Ana Valley High School, Class of 1962, and moved to Northern California in 1964 where she raised her two daughters in Santa Rosa. She will be remembered by her husband of nearly 25 years, Art (Arnold), her children, Wendy Williams and Ronna Bonstein (Jim), his daughter Kara Rapp (Jason), her grandchildren, Casie Jean (Ladybug), Connor, Kelsey and his grandsons Josiah and Perrin, and more 'angels' that touched her life in her final days than can be listed. Carrie will be interred at The Chapel of the Chimes in Santa Rosa beside her predeceased mother, Lynn (Gremlin) and her uncle, Sam. There will be no funeral services but a Celebration of her Life will be held at Legends Restaurant banquet room in Santa Rosa on Saturday, July 14 from 11:00 until 2:00. Island attire is requested! Those who wish to make a memorial donation in Carrie´s name may make them to Council on Aging, 30 Kawana Springs Road, Santa Rosa CA 95404.

I remmber Carrie and everyone she had as friends. Some better than others. I am just thankful to be counted in there somewhere. We shall mis you. May your family be conforted.

Lynda Goff (Maloney)

I always thought Carrie was one of the most beautiful girls in our class. While contacting classmates in planning our 45th reunion, she and I had a wonderful phone conversation, but in the subsequent years lost contact. May her family find comfort in her memories, as her classmates will also cherish fond times in years past.

I rememver her hair was always styled and looked great.
