In Memory

Michael Earl Crane

Mike was born May 3, 1943 and passed away January 12, 1985 from cancer that he felt was caused by exposure to Agent Orange in Viet Nam.  He served there in 1965 -1967 in the Army.  Unfortunately for Mike, this was in the days when the Pentagon was denying that Agent Orange could cause any health problems to any military personnel who had been exposed while serving in Viet Nam.

Some day I'm going to post my thoughts about Mike, who was one of my very best friends at Smedley and Valley. He was one of the most all around good guys anyone could know and a very loyal friend. Once I can overcome my emotions I'll write.

Miss you bud, terribly.

So sorry to read that Mike suffered from the after effects of agent orange. Had a friend in Washington who was in Viet Nam during the same years and remember what he went through before the cancer finally called him home, living on medication for so many years with no quality of life.....too young for so many of our guys who were exposed to it.

Mike will always be remembered by me as the tall cute guy that we all knew during our high school years.

Matt, so glad you joined our site for your father, I'm sure many classmates have great memories to share with you.
