I remember Deveda as one of the 'smartest' girls on campus. She excelled at everything she did. I pray for her family and their peace through the tears.
Does anyone know what Deveda died from? She was at the last renunion and looked like a million dollars. What a tragic loss. She was one of the "group" I hung with in High School. I clearly remember going over to her house one afternoon and baking chocolate chip cookies from scratch with a group of us. It was so much fun. For me, it was my first experience baking cookies. My mom was not much of a homebody type of person. But Deveda was always so kind and upbeat (and tall!). One of the nicest people you could know. Prayers and best wishes to her family. May her memory be a blessing.
I am so sorry to hear the sad news about Deveda. I not only knew her from school but we also attended the same church. In fact, her mother was the choir director at Parkview Church and I was blessed to have been able to sing in the choir. I will always remember Deveda as an excellent student and an all around nice young lady and role model. I am sure that she is already singing with her Mom in heaven.
Deveda was a wonderful classmate and person. May God grant her family peace at this time. There were individuals who were leaders in important aspects of high school life, and Deveda was one of those positive people. Tony Romero

Deveda McDonough and her husband, Ernest, attended the fifty fifth class reunion. They were both very much looking forward to traveling to England the following month. They attended a reception and dinner at Buckingham Palace and had a wonderful time. So it was with complete shock that in January Deveda was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma - stage IV. It is an aggressive form of non small cell lung cancer. She began a treatment program of immunotherapy but shortly thereafter developed penumonia. She passed away just one month after starting treatment. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ernest and her family.
Deveda's brother, Joel, informed me that Deveda was buried at Sky Lawn Cemetery with a small reception for family at her home. Plans are right now that there will be a memorial service held on April 15th (time?) at Valley Prersbyterian Church in Portola Valley, CA. As more details become available I will post what I have.
